Jan shapes the presentation to fit your classroom's interests or focus of study. Implementing the Washington State Revised Essential Learnings, Jan's presentation is designed to trigger interest in reading; motivating your students toward quality writing, and better communication skills.
Calamity Jan kicks off session with a ghost town Power Point presentation introducing her ghost town mystery series. Students get to follow the book process, from idea to bookstore, including:
- Rough draft
- Finished manuscript
- Galley proofs
- Author contract
Let your students have a hands-on opportunity with an author: learning the basic steps to writing fiction and nonfiction and getting the chance to read, write, and share their work with each other, if time allows.
FEES:
- $500 per day for WA state within 60-mile radius
- $600 per day for WA state (includes most expenses)

- $900 per day outside WA (will provide own flight, but requests transportation and housing)
- Workshop Fees negotiable.
A one-day visit includes four 50-minute presentations (40-minute presentation + 10-minute Q&A session) plus book signing during lunch hour and after school.
